The Institute of economics of Jimei University has a research team with high education background and strong ability. At present, there are 88 researchers, including 15 professors, 32 associate professors and 46 teachers with doctoral degrees (including in-service doctoral students).The director is Zeng Weifeng, and the deputy director is Wu Junlong.
The research fields of the Institute include five aspects: first, fiscal and tax policies, such as the evaluation of local fiscal structure and performance, the tax policy selection and evaluation of special economic areas such as bonded zone, high-tech zone, development zone and Experimental Zone, and the performance evaluation of local public management. Second, financial market supervision and cooperation, such as financial theory and policy, financial security, financial center construction, financial cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan. Third, risk assessment and control of investment and financing projects, scale and efficiency of investment and financing structure, investment and financing behavior and efficiency of listed companies, etc. Fourth, the upgrading path and rationality evaluation of industrial structure. Fifth, international technology spillover, intellectual property protection, low-carbon economy and green economy, processing trade structure upgrading, structure adjusting of foreign direct investment, high-tech industrial parks development, and policies and measures to promote the development of open economy.
In recent years, it has undertaken 130 scientific research projects, including the National Social Science Foundation of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the national soft science research projects. The total amount of various scientific research funds has reached 20.84 million yuan since 2016. It has published 402 academic papers in various academic journals at home and abroad (including 136 papers in core journals), 18 academic monographs and 21 teaching materials (Teaching Books). Four achievements won the provincial and ministerial social science outstanding achievement award, and 14 achievements won the Amoy social science outstanding achievement award.
It is guided by Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. It implements the spirit of the nineteen, nineteen second, third, fourth and fifth plenary sessions of CPC. It adhered to the principle of "strengthening the foundation, expanding the professional, cultivating ability and highlighting innovation", explored and innovating in all directions, and worked hard to serve the local economic construction and social development. The mission is to produce high-level theoretical and applied achievements, encourage objective economic analysis and open academic discussion, provide information and help for the formation and decision-making of China's public policies, make contributions to the economic development of Fujian Province, especially Amoy City, and build the Institute into a pragmatic, active, innovative and fruitful research base and innovation center. At the same time, to build a leading economic research institution in the province and well known in China.
